Pakistan political crises
When Imran khan was in power the opposition parties make a
collation of 12 parties and removed Imran khan from power but Imran khan blames
foreign conspiracy.
How Pakistan get to this?
When the opposition banded together and tabled a no-confidence resolution against Imran Khan's government in the National Assembly in 2022, the country experienced political problems on both a national and provincial level. Usman Buzdar, a PTI ally and the Chief Minister of Punjab, resigned from his position on Khan's command in Favour of Pervaiz Elahi, sparking a political upheaval in the Punjab Assembly. The opposition parties in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly also submitted a no-confidence motion against Mahmood Khan, the chief minister of that province, while the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) submitted one against their own prime minister for Azad Kashmir.
Move for a vote of no confidence in Imran Khan:
On March 28, 2022, a motion of no confidence was brought out against Prime Minister Imran Khan. After that, the opposition led by the Pakistan Muslim League (N) (PML-N) began to gain allies from the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) administration. The Jamhoori Watan Party and independent members arrived first, then the Baluchistan Awami Party (BAP), and last, defectors from the Pakistan Muslim League (Q) (PML-Q). But the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan's defection dealt the ruling coalition its ultimate death blow. The opposition further said that Jahangir Tareen, the former PTI secretary general, and a handful of PTI MNAs supported it. Article 63(a) of the Pakistani constitution, according to the PTI, was being broken. On April 3, the election was supposed to take place. However, Qasim Suri, the deputy speaker, objected to the vote being held, alleging both article 5 of the constitution and a foreign plot against the government. The Supreme Court eventually determined that this was unlawful. Imran Khan lost the election when it was ultimately held on April 9. Two days later, on April 11, Shehbaz Sharif was chosen as Pakistan's prime minister.
Punjab Provincial Assembly crisis:
Usman Buzdar, the Chief Minister, resigned as a result of years of political pressure. On April 1st, 2022, the governor accepted the resignation. While the opposition parties, the PML-N and PPP, nominated Hamza Shehbaz of the PML(N), the incumbent speaker, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, a PML(Q) member, for the office of chief minister. The deputy speaker, Dost Muhammad Mazari of the PTI, was in command of the proceedings because the speaker was a candidate in the election. The deputy speaker changed the election's date from its initial scheduled date of April 16 to April 6. But the secretary assembly disobeyed his commands, and a resolution of no confidence was made against him.
Constitutional crisis:
On April 3, 2022, Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri dissolved the National Assembly after refusing to allow a vote of no confidence in Prime Minister Imran Khan, citing article 5 of the Pakistani Constitution. He claimed a foreign plot was against them, but no proof has yet been shown, along with the Prime Minister and other PTI members who are currently in power. The Supreme Court handled the issue on its own and found 5–0 that the decision was unlawful and that the vote should be held on April 9th, 2022.
Azadi March I:
The 2022 Azadi March I, also known as the "Freedom March," was a protest march organized by Imran Khan, the deposed former prime minister of Pakistan and leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party, against the administration of his replacement, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Khan planned a lengthy march towards Islamabad that will begin on May 25, 2022, on May 24, 2022. From Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where his province government assisted him, Khan led the march. The march is led by senior PTI members from Lahore, the Punjabi province's capital.
Azadi March II:
The 2022-23 Azadi March II, also known as the Haqiqi Azadi March, was a protest march from Lahore to Islamabad led by former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan against the Shehbaz Sharif ministry's refusal to announce early general elections and the appointment of a new Pakistan Army Chief.
After much deliberation, Imran finally declared on October 25, 2022, that the lengthy march would start on October 28, from Liberty Chowk in Lahore, and terminate in Islamabad before transitioning into a sit-in.
Imran Khan Assassination Attempt:
Imran Khan, the former prime minister of Pakistan,
attempted to assassinate himself on November 3, 2022. The shooters on the
streets were unsuccessful in their endeavor. Imran Khan chased after surviving
the gunshot during a political event. Since Khan is attempting to reverse the
bad decision made by the politicians in his own nation when they forced him out
of government, the march to the Capital, as it was known, was a significant
rally for his political comeback. Imran Khan was shot in the leg during this
incident close to the town of Gujranwala, and senior leader Asad Umar claims
the following. "Yes, he has been shot. Pellets are stuck in his leg, and
his bone is chipped.
Imran Khan Conspiracy Concerns Against U.S.A:
The United States and the country in South Asia have tense relations. In an exclusive interview with CNN's Becky Andersen, the former prime minister Imran Khan claimed that Donald Lu, the assistant secretary of the US Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs, insisted that Khan be removed from office. Imran Khan's mere existence in Pakistan is complicating US relations with India and Afghanistan. Khan has informed CNN that Lu has made serious claims, claiming that there would be "serious consequences for Pakistan" if Khan is not removed.
Additionally, a representative for the US State Department stated to CNN that these rumours from Khan are untrue.
